Have you ever heard about Nollywood? The Nigerian film industry is called Nollywood, having been derived as a play on Hollywood in the same manner as the Indian film industry Bollywood. Nigerian cinema is Africa's largest movie industry  and growing constantly since the 1990s. The majority of the films are produced with the video format, made on low budgets and are directed in short time. However, it is fascinating for me that the Nigerians prefer these sometimes poorly produced films to the big flicks from Hollywood. Nollywood has a growing influence all across the continent.
